Snail concentrate is extracted from the secretion (mucus) of snails (Helix aspersa). This raw material has been used in cosmetology for a long time. Its positive effects have been observed on a Chilean snail farm supplying the French food industry. The potential beneficial effects began to be investigated when it was noticed that injuries to the hands healed very quickly and that the skin on the hands of the workers was always soft and tender.

ODA’s intensively nourishing (and also moisturising) hand cream formula uses snail concentrate – extracted from snails grown on organic farms, specially fed with organic vegetables, and with strict controls on pesticide and herbicide levels. The snail secretion is filtered 2 times and then stabilised to extract the raw material, called concentrate. It is rich in mucopolysaccharides, which give the skin protective, moisturising properties. It also contains natural glycolic acid, which restores the natural moisture balance, regenerates and brightens. The snail concentrate contains allantoin, which has skin-protective and soothing properties; elastin and collagen, which are components of skin firmness; amino acids and vitamins A, E and C, which have antioxidant properties.

In addition to its moisturising, nourishing and restorative properties, it is important that the hand care product has a pleasant texture, a natural scent, absorbs quickly and does not leave greasy residues on the hands.
